Solo Soprano and Piano

This is the 8th Movement of Chronicles of Winter.  In this movement, cold and hunger have reduced The Girl into a somewhat trance-like state. She compares the deathly cold she feels now to the fleeting sensations of cold she has experienced in earlier parts of her life. As she succumbs to its hold, she discovers that rather than being harsh, death’s grip is tender; similar to being called home or falling asleep.
